TEAM FORMATION:
THERE IS NO "RETURN TO TEAM" OPTION FOR SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL. A player's history on a previous Fall or Spring Flag team does not guarantee a right to return to the team for Spring 2010. If you are unsure if your team is playing or if your child is on the coach's roster, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PREVIOUS TEAM'S COACH TO CONFIRM THE PLAYERS STATUS ON THE TEAM ROSTER.
Bring Your Own Team: Coaches may go out and recruit or ask players in the same grade to join a team for the spring flag season. Coaches must submit a team roster to the league with a minimum of 10 players in order to be a "Pre-Formed" team. Rosters are due January 20 and must be submitted via fax at (972) 727-9760, by email to jennifer.hasko@allensports.org or by walk-in at the ASA office. Spring flag rosters are under the "Forms" link to the left of the page.
Players who have been recruited/asked to play on a "Pre-Formed" team must register indicidually and they will be placed on the team roster once the coach has submitted his official roster to the league. There is no need to indicate on the registration form the team or coach's name. All players will be placed using the roster submitted by the head coach.
Individual/Draft Players: Players who have not been asked to join a specific team or who are new to spring flag and do not have a team may register individually. Players who register individually will be placed on a team via blind draft by the football board. The board will make every effort to place players with other players who go to the same school or to a neighboring school.
Individual/Draft players can submit a request to play on a specific team. However, there are no guarantees the player will be placed on the team requested. Every effort will be made to place kids with their friends and/or classmates.
If you have a question regarding team formation or if you can not determine which category that your child belongs in, please contact your league director. League Director contact information is available at the "Football Board contacts" link to the right of the page.
PLAYING UP:
All players must register in their grade appropriate division. If you would like your child to play up one division you must get pre-approval from your division directio. Once approved to play up, you must still register in your grade appropriate division and the league will move the player up to the requested division during team formation.
PLAYERS CAN NOT PLAY UP IN TO THE EAGLE DIVISION! EAGLE DIVISION PLAYERS MUST BE 4 YEARS OLD BY JANUARY 1, 2010 TO PLAY IN THE SPRING FLAG 2010 SEASON.
EQUIPMENT:
Players are responsible for their own equipment and uniforms. A list of required equipment is available at the "Uniforms and Equipment" link to the right of the page.
Uniforms and Equipment are NOT included in the registration fee. Flags are also not included with registration.
Please contact your child's head coach in regards to questions about uniforms and equipment.
