What happens after I register for a sport?

  • Registration has 4 distinct steps:  registration, team formation, scheduling, and season play.
  • After registering for a team, there will be a wait period before receiving correspondence from ASA.  During this time, the Sports Specialists and League Directors have set into motion the steps necessary to form teams, assign divisions and, ultimately, the rosters/teams for the season.
  • Upon completion of the team assignment phase, you will be notified by a coach with information regarding the upcoming playing season. This is usually around 2 weeks before the upcoming season after the coaches meeting.
  • All sports pages will have an “Important Dates” link to reference specific dates of the season.

How are DRAFT teams formed and how are draft players placed?

Team formation and player placement can vary between each sport. Please refer to the specific sports page for more information.

When can I expect to see my game schedules?

  • ASA Game Schedules are generally released at least one week before the season begins. Although this is not always optimal, it is a direct result of the preparation that is required before the season begins.
  • Play-Off/Tournament Schedules will be released once the regular season ends. Weather cancelations may have an effect on when schedules are released.
  • All game schedules will be posted on our website click HERE to view our schedules page.

What times are ASA games played?

Please visit sport specific page for game information.

  • Full refund: Issued any time prior to the end of regular registration.
  • Partial Refund: Once regular registration closes all refunds will be minus a $35 administrative fee.
  • No Refund: There will be no refunds once games begin or due to game cancellations, regardless of reason. For insurance purposes, if a player was injured practicing or playing the sport they are registered for we will NOT issue a refund, regardless of the time of season the injury occurs.

ASA Equal Play Time Opportunity

Per the ASA By-Laws, each sport will provide at least one recreational league with a requirement that each player shall play a minimum of one-half (1/2) of each game. Exception will be made for injury or ejection. A player may be disciplined by a reduction of playing provided the coach notifies the parent of the player and the appropriate league officials via writing prior to the game. Sports programs may also provide a competitive league that has less rigid playing time requirements, but only if a recreational league is available that has at least 50% of all participants in that sport.

What is ASA’s Uniform Policy?

For the most part uniforms are not included in our registration fee and will be an additional cost. Price will vary depending on the sport. Please refer to the “Uniforms & Equipment” tab under the “Links” on the specific sports page for more details. Coaches are responsible for informing parents where to purchase team uniforms. Our preferred uniform vendor is High5 Sports and Logos.

Coach and player uniforms and team fan/spirit wear cannot display advertisements of alchohol, tobacco and or/illegal drugs.

What if my child gets injured during practice or a game?

Most sports registration fees include supplemental insurance for players, coaches and volunteers. If your child gets injured, please contact the ASA office for instructions on how to submit a claim.
