For 4th, 5th, 6th Grade Competitive volleyball ONLY
Any player wanting to register to play within a competitive league that is not part of a coaches pre-formed team roster will have to participate in a skills evaluation. This will insure that players in the individual draft pool will have the necessary skills to play in the competitive league. All Evaluations are “closed” to the public. All individuals with the necessary skills will be assigned to a competitive team that does not have a completed roster.
Coaches can choose whether or not to utilize this system to take their recreational team competitive by having the entire team go through competitive skills evaluation. At the coaches’ discretion, players that are not competitive level can be included onto their rosters, regardless of the skills evaluation results.
Those planning on attending will need to:
A) Print/fill-out an EVALUATION FORM and bring with you
B) Bring their ball, clearly marked with player name
C) Wear kneepads
Evaluations are tentatively scheduled for Friday, January 27 - Ford Middle School
4th Grade COMP @ 6:30 PM
5th Grade COMP @ 7:00 PM
6th Grade COMP @ 8:15 PM
Players in 4th 5th and 6th grade who are registering for the Recreational Divisions do not need prior play experience, Nor do they need to attend these competitive evaluations.
**Players will be evaluated on serve and serve-receive and must approximate 60% accuracy to clear Competitive Evaluations.
You do NOT need to attend BOTH evaluations. Should you attend and not clear the first evaluation, you have the option to attend the second evaluation for a re-take.
ATTENTION PARENTS and PLAYERS - Should you NOT clear these evaluations, yet have a final score of 50% accuracy or higher, you may still be able to play Competitive Volleyball, should a coach with a competitive team need additional players to fill their teams roster. This can be done ONLY if you have already registered as a Competitive player in Sports pilot.
Once registration has closed, Competitive coaches will have 48 hours to review their rosters and request additional players.
ATTENTION COMPETITVE COACHES – Once registration has closed, your teams will be formed and all players in the Competitive Draft Pool will be assigned.
You will then be emailed and given a 48 hour window in which to review your team’s roster and decide if you’d like additional players, before those in the 50% percentile are moved to their respective recreational programs.
Should you determine that you’d like additional players from this blind draft pool, you may contact Volleyball@allensports.org to request additional players be placed on your team, beginning with those scoring Highest, on a first-come-first served basis.
