IT IS MANDATORY THAT ALL WRESTLERS USE THE ALLEN TEAM SINGLET OR BEST TRAINED SINGLET AT ALL TOURNAMENTS.
Any registration after December 6th will be subject to a $25 late fee.
All wrestlers must submit a copy of their birth certificate.
- Registration fee includes a mandatory $40 USA Wrestling membership fee, wrestling uniform (singlet), and wrestling team t-shirt and shorts. Wrestlers are responsible for buying their own wrestling shoes and headgear.
- Kids from 4 - 15 years old are eligible to wrestle in the ASA program. Kids that are non-Allen residents can wrestle through the ASA program until they are 15 years old. All seventh and eighth grade Allen students can wrestle through the Allen Middle School program. Please contact Jerry Best at jerry.best@allenisd.org for more information on the Allen Middle School program.
- The Allen Eagles Wrestling Team practices 3 nights per week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
- Most tournaments are on Saturdays starting in November. The Allen Eagles Wrestling Team will attend approximately 10 tournaments this season. Of those, 6-7 tournaments are what we call local tournaments. A local tournament is defined as a tournament that is within an hour car drive of Allen. The remaining tournaments are 2-4 hours away. There are also 3-4 tournaments that would require an overnight stay ( require hotel). It is required that each wrestler that is in their first year of wrestling attend 50% of the local tournaments. Kids that are in their second year or more are required to attend 75% of the local tournaments. It is important for parents to know this as they are responsible for getting their wrestler to the tournament.
- There is an entry fee for each tournament, typically $13.00 (parents responsibility to pay).
- Please have your wrestler wear shorts (with no buttons or zippers), t-shirt and wrestling shoes (not sneakers) to practice.
- For tournaments, the team singlet, wrestling shoes and headgear are required.
- It is now mandatory to weigh-in at tournament site (tournament morning). Some tournaments will have a weigh-in during a week night before the tournament. It is mandatory to be weighed in before the tournament. It is mandatory that a parent of any child 9 and under stay for the entire practice. In addition, a parent must come into the school to pick up their wrestler at the end of each practice, not wait outside in the car. We will not let the kids go unless a parent is there.
- ASA Wrestling will take registrations for every tournament at practices the week prior to that weekend tournament (Monday-Thursday). CHECKS ONLY.
- We will hold a parent orientation meeting at the start of each season to cover the team and sport rules.
