Allen Baseball Blog

Located in Allen, TX we are a non-profit youth baseball association operated totally by volunteers. Our mission is to provide a safe challenging atmosphere while teaching the fine art of baseball to the youth of Allen and surrounding communities.

As stated in the Allen Baseball Constitution: The objective of the League (Allen Baseball) is, through the medium of a supervised, competitive baseball program, to implant in the youth of the community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence, so that they may be finer, stronger and happier youth who will grow to be good, clean, healthy adults.

So what are you waiting for, check our team schedules, park maps, grab the peanuts, and take the family out to one of our exciting ball games! Come support today’s stars of Allen Baseball!  ...You’ll wonder who’s having more fun, you or the players?

CHANGES TO CITY LEAGUE

  1. 5U - 12U Dropping Cal Ripken Affiliation: The 5U-12U City League agen groups are no longer affiliated with Cal Ripken. The City League is now an un-affiliated recreational program specifically intended to present the opporutnity for children in those age groups to play baseball in Allen. The rules of play will be the same for Spring 2008 as they were in Spring 2007. There are only two differences to highlight. See Below: (Note: We remain affiliated with Babe Ruth, in the 13U-15U and 16U-18U ages)
  2. 5U - 12U Dropping TRAVEL ALL STARS. The TRAVEL ALL STAR programs, which afforded Allen the opportunity to compete in the Cal Ripken Southwest Regional Tournaments, is discontinued as a result of dropping our affiliation. This means there will be no TRAVEL ALL STAR tryouts during the season. (Notes: The City Showcase All Star teams will still be elected by players and coaches as we have in the past. City Showcase All Star games will be played following the post-season tournament.)
  3. 11U-12U & Big Barrell Bats - The City League 11U & 12U teams will be allowed to use big-barrell bats (2-3/4") during their league games at Bolin/Twin Creeks fields.
  4. Babe Ruth Leagues TRAVEL ALL STAR teams are now determined by the winner of the post-season tournament in the respective age group. Tryouts will not be necessary unless replacement players are needed.
