| Allen Baseball Association sponsors two formats of post-season, all-star play. The City All Stars format organizes City All Stars into teams for one or two post-season games to cap the baseball season in Allen. The Babe Ruth All Star teams represent the Allen Baseball Association at Babe Ruth State, Regional and/or World Series events. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The City All Stars are selected by player vote and manager selection about mid-season. League agents determine how many players shall be elected from each team to form an appropriate number of all-star teams for particular leagues. The league agent will determine the number of teams and therefore the number of all-star players to be selected. City All Stars are determined by player vote and manager selection. The league agent shall assemble the top 3, or 4 if necessary, candidates voted by the players. The manager/coaches for each team shall then have the option of adding names to the nominee list to reach the number of players specified by the league agent, but in no case shall the number of nominees from a team exceed six (6). No manager/coach shall be required to add players to the list other than those nominated by the boys. In fact, managers shall be reminded that the objective is to nominate those players from each team which legitimately deserve to be among those considered for all-star selection. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| As long as weather and scheduling allow, the players nominated through the process identified above will then participate in the "Allen City All-Star Event." This event will typically be a one or two game event, but may be shortened or cancelled due to weather and scheduling conflicts. The city tournament teams will be formed by the league agent with the goal of having as equal of teams as possible. The league agent will try and distribute pitchers and catchers across the teams and distribute the remaining players regardless of position. In, general the league agent will try and equally distibute players from the same regular season team across the city tournament teams. No player is automatically assured a spot on any all-star team by virtue of the fact that his parent has been designated as the team manager or as team assistant coach. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
