Brant Wood - President
Brant has coached ASA boys and girls in basketball, soccer, football and baseball since 2002. Brant is the CEO of Café Brazil, a CPA and has been involved with restaurants in board, executive and ownership positions for over 20 years. In addition to his work with Café Brazil, he is also an active board member and advisor for NYPD Pizza in Phoenix, Arizona.
Brant and his wife Allison both received undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and MBAs from The University of Texas at Dallas. They have three children (Ashleigh, Connor and Austin) who have all played ASA Sports with dad as their Head Coach.
Jannise Vinson - Secretary
Jannise Vinson has spent over 30 years working for top 100 international law firms as a technical liaison, legal facilitator, public speaker and business systems analyst. She is now the Senior Systems Business Analyst at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where she connects people to firm experiences. She assists in technical architecture and systems management for their suite of marketing and communication tools.
Jannise is a mentor to young women and loves to integrate STEM principles into how she mentors. Jannise has been a volunteer coach with the ASA since 2013. She has coached soccer, basketball, as well as two cheerleading squads (Kinder - 6th grade). Many of her sports families have gone on to play for various Allen middle school and AHS teams. She was a cheer director for 2 years, and most recently served as the ASA Volunteer Cheer Commissioner for the past 3 years.
Jannise has two daughters, Jessica and Jocelyn, who enjoyed several seasons of ASA sports, and like their mother are also involved in volunteerism, leadership and giving back to their community. Jannise and her husband Shannon remain active in various philanthropic and volunteer interests.
Todd Thompson - Member at Large
Todd has served with ASA since 2006, first as a baseball League Director and more recently from 2012 to 2016 as ASA Baseball Commissioner. Todd is a graduate from Lake Highlands High School and Texas Tech University and currently works for DXC as COO in Consumer, Retail and Healthcare Industry. Prior to Workday, Todd has been involved with IT and HR Outsourcing for 34 years.
Todd and his wife Xan have two boys, Case and Dayton.
Rick Zinsmeister - Member at Large
Rick has over 30 years’ experience in accounting and finance ranging from privately held start-ups to a Fortune 200 company.
Rick is the CFO of Align Communications, an IT Service Solutions provider. Rick’s focus is on strategic financial planning and analysis. Prior to Align, Rick has also held senior level positions with Injala, a SaaS provider in the commercial insurance field, CommScope, a telecommunications infrastructure company, Quickfilter, a fab-less semiconductor start-up and with various divisions of Emerson Electric encompassing telecommunications, data center and consumer products.
Rick earned his BBA in Accounting and MBA in Finance from Cleveland State University. Rick is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Teresa Rodenbaugh - Member at Large
Teresa has been a member of the Board of Directors since April 2016. She works for St. Jude Catholic Church and handles adult Bible studies and the social media. She is married to Ronald and has lived in Allen and been active in various aspects of the community since 1979.
Desmond Bibbs - Member at Large
Desmond Bibbs transitioned his wife and two children to Texas in 2019. He soon began his role as Community Engagement Manager at the Credit Union of Texas. Desmond has served in the service industry for over ten years. He developed a remarkable ability for networking and connecting with others to effectively fulfill the goal and vision for his various roles. Desmond ventured into banking in 2004 as a Personal Banker. He exhibited positive leadership qualities and unique innovation that soon prompted his promotion to a management position. Desmond’s management and team building strategies has resulted in improved morale and notable increased outcomes.
Desmond loves spending quality time with family and friends and discovering unique ways to enjoy downtime with those he loves. He enjoys coaching his son and daughter’s basketball teams. Desmond was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and he and his family have quickly adapted and come to love Texas living.
Luke Hollingsworth - Member at Large
Luke is an Arkansas native and graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. He has been a resident of both Texas and Allen for 17 years. He and his wife Chrissa, a Texas and Allen native have three children daughters, Kaedyn & Kenzie, and son Cash all in AISD. He has worked in sales for over 20 years in various industries.
Luke has served on multiple boards and commissions through the city of Allen over the last 10 plus years such as Planning & Zoning, Public Arts, and currently serves on the Parks and Recreation Board as secretary. He has also served on several PTA boards and have been a part of programs such as Watch D.O.G.S. and Dads at the Door through AISD. He has coached his children’s sports teams through ASA including soccer, volleyball (served on board), softball, football and baseball which he still currently enjoys very much. He is currently a board member for the Prestonwood Foundation and member of the Allen Sunrise Rotary.
Angela Martinez - Member at Large
Angela graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) with a marketing degree. While at UTA, she competed in both track & field and cross country. During her time at the University, she earned NCAA All-American honors and was recognized as the UTA Female Athlete of the Year twice. Sports has always played a huge role in her life and she has worked in several capacities within the sports industry, including five seasons in minor league baseball. She also worked in athletic marketing & development for her alma mater. Angela also handled sponsorship sales for TCU Athletics via ISP Sports. She has resided in Allen for 8 years with her husband, Tommy, and son, Jacob.
Alyson Roberts - Member at Large
Alyson Roberts serves as the Senior Vice President of Relationship Strategy, Solutions & Support for the Consumer & Business Banking vertical at US Bank. In this role she leads a large organization which includes, Investor Relations, Third Party Risk, Expense Optimization, Offshore Operational Oversight and Quality Management. Prior to US Bank, Ms. Roberts has held key roles with other Financial Institutions leading in the areas like Enterprise Project Management, Corporate Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions and Risk and Governance. Ms. Roberts has almost 15 years of related Banking experience, but also has a background in Telecommunications and Consulting. Ms. Roberts holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and Finance and an MBA, with a focus in Strategy from Texas A&M University.
Community service is also of importance to Ms. Roberts. She serves on the Finance Planning Committee for the Cancer Support Community North Texas; Junior Achievement Dallas’ Young Executive Board; and serves as the President of the Allen High School Lady Eagles Basketball Booster Club.
Alyson is originally from Overland Park Kansas, but currently resides in Parker Texas with her 3 children – Jaylen, Jared and Aryn and 4 dogs Murphy, Lucas, Wylie and Beau.
Jeff Holt - City of Allen Representative
Jeff has served on the ASA Board of Directors since 2015. He is the Director of Golf at The Courses at Watters Creek, serves on the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Committee and a member of the PGA of America. Jeff has officiated high school football for twenty 29 years and serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Football Officials Association. Jeff’s wife Linda is a teacher for Richardson ISD.
Kyle Herrema - Lovejoy ISD Representative
Kyle Herrema is the Athletic Coordinator and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Lovejoy High School. Coach Herrema is entering his 26th year in teaching and coaching. He spent his first year in Duncanville ISD at Byrd Middle School in 1996. From Duncanville he moved to Aurora, Colorado and coached at Smoky Hill High School. After two years in Colorado, Kyle was in Coppell ISD for seven years where he served as Varsity Assistant Basketball and Assistant Cross Country coach for the Coppell Cowboys. In 2006, Herrema was named as the first boys basketball coach at the newly founded Lovejoy High School.
During his tenure at Lovejoy, the Leopards have won five district championships while making ten appearances in the postseason. Coach Herrema is a four time district Coach of the Year and a TABC Region Coach of the Year.
He has served as the President of the North Texas Basketball Coaches Association, is the current TABC All-State and All-Region chair for Region II Basketball, and was the Humanex-Coach Exemplar.
Kyle graduated from Baylor University in 1996 and finished his Masters at Ohio University in 2017. He has been married to his wife Krista for 24 years.
Dr. Robin Bullock - Allen ISD Representative
Dr. Robin Bullock was named the Allen ISD superintendent of schools in January 2020. Dr. Bullock joined Allen ISD in 2013 and served as the assistant superintendent for Human Resources, the assistant superintendent for School Leadership and Student Support, and as deputy superintendent.
Before joining Allen ISD, Dr. Bullock served as the deputy superintendent for Midlothian ISD as well as the interim superintendent. She also held positions as an assistant middle school principal, elementary school principal, middle school principal, and director of personnel for Midlothian ISD.
She began her education career as a seventh-grade language arts teacher and coach in Red Oak ISD in 1995. She also taught language arts and coached in Eufaula, Alabama, and Duncanville ISD before joining the Midlothian ISD staff in 2000.
Dr. Bullock earned her doctoral degree in educational leadership at Dallas Baptist University. She received her MA degree from Troy State University in Alabama and her BA from Northwestern State University in Louisiana. She received her principal and superintendent certifications from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Dr. Bullock has two children, Emily, a 2020 Allen High School graduate now attending the University of Arkansas, and Evan, a high school senior. She is a graduate of the Allen-Fairview Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class and is a member and current Secretary of the Allen Noon Rotary Club.
