Fall Basketball
ASA Basketball offers three different seasons - Winter, Spring & Fall. The Winter season is the primary season and includes games and practice with registration. All three seasons are open to players of all skill levels.
The Fall season is for kindergarten through high school players. It is a short season that is designed as a way for athletes to keep up their skills prior to school tryouts and the winter season.
THIS FALL: 4 practices per team will be offered this Fall 2026 season for Kindergarten-6th grade teams only. Practices will only be offered on Sundays, every other week of the season at no additional cost to the team. Coaches must OPT-IN to be scheduled for practices.
NEW THIS FALL
ASA Developmental Basketball League
Introducing the ASA Developmental Basketball League—the perfect starting point for young athletes in grades 3–6 who are brand new to the game of basketball.
This beginner-focused program is designed specifically for players with little to no organized basketball experience. Our goal is to teach the fundamental skills, rules, and concepts of the game in a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment while helping every player build confidence and develop a love for basketball.
Weeks 1–4: Players will participate in Monday and Wednesday evening skills sessions led by two outstanding coaches. These sessions will focus on basketball fundamentals, including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, footwork, teamwork, and game awareness.
Weeks 5–6: Players will be assigned to teams within the academy and receive an ASA game jersey. The final two weeks will feature games between academy teams, allowing players to apply what they've learned in a real game setting while continuing to build confidence in a positive, instructional environment.
Program Eligibility
To ensure this program remains focused on true beginners, the ASA Developmental Basketball League is intended for players who are new to organized basketball.
- This program is designed for players with little to no previous basketball experience.
- Players who have participated in two or more ASA basketball league seasons are not eligible for the Developmental Basketball League.
- Players may register for either the Developmental Basketball League or the ASA Fall Basketball League, but not both during the same season.
ASA reserves the right to determine player eligibility and place participants in the program that best matches their skill level and previous basketball experience. This ensures the Developmental Basketball League remains a positive learning environment for beginners and provides every participant with the best opportunity to grow and gain confidence in the game.

Additional Information
Player/Team Registration Options
- Individual registration – This option is open to every player that wants to play basketball with ASA. If you are new to the league or want a change from a previous team, register as an individual in “draft” status and ASA will place you on a team that has an opening or create a team where you will be added.
- Pre-formed Team – This option is for a returning team that would like to keep its team intact from a prior season. The Head Coach will register themselves first and will be sent a team invitation code. They will distribute that code to their players and they will be assigned to that coach’s roster once they register and pay individually. Teams with less than 10 players on their roster could have players added to their roster. Max roster size is 10.
- Registered Team – This option is when a coach pays the predetermined team fee up front when registering the team. Once the coach has completed a criminal background check, they will be sent a team code that should be distributed to the players. The players must register with ASA at no fee, and be added to the team roster. The minimum number of players on a Registered team roster is seven and that locks their roster to where no additional players will be added. Teams with less than seven will have players added. Max roster size is 10. The Board reserves the right to move these teams up a league for competitive reasons.* Registered teams may only add players to a roster up to Week 2 of the season, regardless of roster size, or injury.
